Benefactor Fanny Clifton's grave found!
After recently finding and clearing Fanny Clifton’s grave, we gave it a wash and look how beautiful it looks after 137 years! Many graves round about have lost their epitaphs to the weather. But it seams the Ivy lined peat layered blanket of soil has preserved the writing on the stone. #whittingtonparish #whittingtoncommunityhall #whittingtonchurch

Searching for the final resting places of Elizabeth Stephens and Fanny Clifton
We’ve been searching for a while for the final resting places of Elizabeth Stephens and Fanny Clifton, and one of our volunteers Helena, approached Whittington Church to find out if they had a record of Fanny Clifton’s burial in 1888, and they did, but we were only told the general area, not the exact spot - so it was going to take a lot of cutting back of brambles to try to find her!
